DALLAS — Pisgah senior and No. 1 ranked Cody Lamb ran up his impressive record to 38-1 (34 pins) after he won the NCHSAA Class 3-A West Regional heavyweight (285 pounds) gold medal, beating East Gaston’s Jordan Wilson by a 5-2 decision in the championship match at North Gaston High School Sunday night.
Junior Dillon O’Neil’s bid to give Pisgah a pair of regional gold medals fell short when he lost to East Gaston’s Jaquez Hunter-Cathey by a 4-0 decision in the 145-pound regional championship match.
Pisgah sophomore Justin Smith, who won the bronze medal in the 106-pound division, Lamb and O’Neil qualified for this weekend’s state 3-A championships at the Greensboro Coliseum.
