It's been weeks since the old trees were removed and the stumps ground down in front of the Historic Courthouse in Waynesville. The tree removal left the front lawn looking a little barren, but on Thursday, the process to rejuvenate the space began with the planting of some small trees.

Spray painted X's on the ground mark the spots where the new trees will go, and soon, the rest of the landscaping will begin.
