Deeply Loved and Missed
WAYNESVILLE — Larry Benjamin Stinnett, 58, of Piney Grove Road, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014.
Mr. Stinnett was born Aug. 5, 1955, in Haywood County. He was the owner of Stinnett Sign Company in Waynesville and was a United States Army veteran. Larry was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church. An avid outdoorsman, Larry enjoyed fly fishing on our mountain streams and hunting — especially in Georgia. He loved golfing and could often be found camping at Davidson River. Larry was a loving son, brother and uncle and was, in the words of his family, “A good man with a good heart.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Hardy R. Stinnett.
Surviving are his mother, Floy Latimer Duckett, of Canton, his daughters, Holli Stinnett Rathbone, of Waynesville, Racheal Stinnett, of Maggie Valley, and Lauren Stinnett, of Maggie Valley; a sister, Kelley Mosser, of Waynesville; a brother, Charles Duckett, of Atlanta, Georgia; several grandchildren and nephews and a niece.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home with the Rev. Clay Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Stinnett’s memory to Haywood County EMS, 215 N. Main St., Waynesville NC 28786.
