Learn to make a rustic table, chair or bench at a rustic furniture workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Casual Lane Rustics in Clyde. Workshops can also be scheduled on another Saturday for those interested.

The workshop will be taught by Bob Grytten, a rustic furniture craftsman and designer. There is a maximum of three available spots per workshop in order to allow Grytten to work more closely with each participant.
“We will start with a classic small bench or a three-legged corner table,” said Grytten. Additional projects include a mortise and tenon, and pegged joins — a feature of all Grytten pieces.

“These are not difficult,” said Grytten, “It's just a matter of learning a few techniques — but most of all, we will have a good time.”
The cost for the one-day workshop is $125 and includes the use of tools, materials, lunch, the piece of furniture being made and a celebration wine and cheese party.
