Loving Mother

CANTON — Lillian Mann Rowland, 77, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 at John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.

A native of Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde James and Blanche Hall Mann.  She retired from Southwestern Child Development as a director with 26 years of service and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Lillian enjoyed traveling, music, playing the auto harp, and was a supporter of the Hart Theater.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Thomas Anthony Rowland; a daughter, Jamie Biddix and her husband, Johnny, of Canton; three sons, Dwayne Scott of Interlachen, Florida, David Scott and his wife, Candice, of Canton, and Derek Scott and his wife, Kimberly, of Canton; a sister, Evelyn Smith of Clyde; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
