A Beloved Lady
CLYDE — Linda Parker Reck, 70, of Clyde, passed away Wednesday evening, Jan. 9, 2013, at the Owen Heart Tower at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
Together Linda and William Reck have owned WPTL Radio in Canton since 1978. Linda touched many lives in our community with her care and true compassion for others. We grieve with enormous pride and gratitude for all that she taught us and all that she gave of herself. We are all better people today, for having been touched by the life of Linda Parker Reck.
She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, and her best friend of nearly 52 years, William A. Reck; also surviving are her daughters, Terryll Reck Evans, of Fairhope, Alabama, and Merrie Lynn Reck Smathers, of Candler; her grandchildren, Hope Christine Evans, Hollie Elisabeth Evans, Haley Ann Evans, Kenneth Hayden Evans and Hannah Rose Evans.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service for Linda, which will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Crawford / Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. The Rev. Steve Smith will be officiating.
