Ben Wilson LIVE at The Classic Wineseller Jan. 24, Stuart McNair to play Jan. 25

The Classic Wineseller, Waynesville’s premier retail wine and craft beer shop, small plate restaurant, and intimate live music venue presents local, regional, or national talent each Friday and Saturday night in the underground environs at 20 Church St. The kitchen opens at 5:30 p.m. and music begins at 7p.m.. There is a $10 per person minimum including food, beverages, and retail purchases. Reservations are accepted between 6 and 7 p.m. by calling 452-6000.

Ben Wilson plays hits from the 60s, 70s, and 80s on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7 p.m. Wilson, voted one of Florida’s Top Five Songwriters in 2009 and 2010, has toured for the last 15 years singing and playing guitar and harmonica. His repertoire is extensive and includes originals, Americana, and acoustic classics. His style has been compared to Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, John Prine, and Todd Snider. Ten albums, two charted songs, and 2,000 live shows later, Wilson makes his home in Asheville where he teaches songwriting to students as part of the school system’s artist residency program.

Singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Stuart McNair entertains on Saturday, Jan. 25 beginning at 7 p.m. McNair wows audiences by performing on guitar, piano, harmonica, trumpet, accordion, washboard, mandolin, and other instruments. He combines folk, country, bluegrass, zydeco, and reggae traditions to take his audience on a musical journey. The UK publication Maverick Magazine calls McNair "one of the South's musical treasures."
