Local artisans will be in Maggie Valley during Labor Day weekendCraft show will feature furniture, jewelry, paintings and more
Celebrating local crafters, the annual Maggie Valley Labor Day Craft Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. Admission is free.
In addition to many returning artisans, the show will also feature a large number of newcomers. Expect a variety of crafts, from furniture, to paintings, to handmade jewelry and other traditional crafts. There will also be plenty of festival foods, such as hot dogs, snow cones, barbecue and more.
Those attending the craft show are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the local community. Maggie Valley Craft Shows began collecting food items at its shows last year, and it was a great success. This year, the craft show has teamed up with the Maggie Valley Methodist Church Food Pantry, who has offered volunteers to help with the collecting and distribution process. In addition to the help from the church, Maggie Valley Craft Shows hopes to make their food drive even more outstanding by hosting a raffle. Bring a food item to be donated to the food pantry, receive a raffle ticket and you will have a chance to win a handmade craft donated by a local artisan. You do not have to be present to win.
“We are looking for a great crowd this year,” Rose Beck said. “Come on out to Maggie Valley and join us!”
