Local children’s author signing at Blue Ridge

Jul 24, 2013

Local author Anna Browning will be at Blue Ridge Books at 3 p.m. July 27 to read her new children’s book.

The 32-page hardcover book titled "Tanner Turbeyfill and the Moon Rocks" is now available at Blue Ridge Books, City Lights Bookstore in Sylva and online at Amazon.com and BN.com. Anna’s illustrator, Josh Crawford, will be on hand to sign books alongside Anna.

"Tanner Turbeyfill and the Moon Rocks" is an exciting story about a young boy who has always wanted his own moon rocks. Tanner’s dream was to fly to the moon and dig up his own lunar rocks. Much to his surprise, that trip would come sooner than he could imagine.

Included in the book are actual moon facts direct from Tanner’s Moon Journal, an illustration of our Solar System, and a narrative audio CD with music, sound effects, and an original song to learn.

Anna grew up in Haywood County and attended Pisgah High School (class of 2005). She has bachelor’s degrees from Western Carolina University and a BA in English from UNC-Charlotte. Anna took many classes in children’s literature at UNCC and fell in love with the genre.

Josh Crawford, a Haywood County native and graduate of Tuscola High School (2005) and Western Carolina University (2010), illustrated this book.
