“Team Waynesville” took top honors at the Biltmore NATRC ride event Oct. 4 to 6, at the Biltmore Estate.

Local women rode their horses in the Autumn 90 at Biltmore NATRC (North American Trail Ride Conference) long distance trail event. Although the ride is for individual placing of both rider and horse, the group calls itself Team Waynesville.

All the women and horses placed well at this ride. Mary Britt was not allowed to participate, since she was the group's coach/mentor.

Team Waynesville will host this event June 8 to 9, 2013, at the Biltmore Estate. The event requires a conditioned horse and rider for managing long distances and some natural obstacles.

NATRC is a national trail riding competition.  Newcomers for summer event are welcome, including juniors (ages 10 to 18).  For more information, call Mary Britt at 400-5837.
