Mountain Projects was awarded $6500  by the Evergreen Foundation. Additional financial support was provided by Wells Fargo. This award serves to show Evergreen’s continued support of the Teen Institute (TI) summer conference.

TI is a youth leadership program offering positive support for making healthy life style choices. The conference is attended by youths from the seven western counties. Middle and high school youth are engaged in educational sessions focusing on self-care and healthy choices.  Past topics have included suicide prevention, healthy dating relationships and underage drinking and bullying prevention. These youths then bring this knowledge back to their schools and work with their peers to create positive change in their communities.

TI recently held its Regional Seminar at Lake Junaluska. The theme for this year was "Life Intentions."
