Lois W. Borchert
WAYNESVILLE — Lois Wilson Borchert, 91, passed away Sunday, Nov. 3 at Creekside Villas.
A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Bartholomew and Elva Gilbert Wilson. Lois was a faithful pastor’s wife whose life revolved around her loving family. Lois and her husband Harold served as missionaries in Japan for 15 years starting in 1952. She was an avid reader and enjoyed researching her family genealogy and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Lois will always be remembered as a gracious lady and witness to her Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Harold Borchert; three daughters, Susan Yozawa of Tokyo, Japan, Lois Wilson of St. Augustine, Florida and Sarah Rydelek and her husband, Greg, of Waynesville; nine grandchildren, Emi, Fumi, Dan, Tim, Joe, Jed, Chris, Corey and Hope; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Loraine Michiels of Louisiana.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7 at Hazelwood Presbyterian Church with Pastors Patrick Womack and Dan Gilchrist officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
