Lost parking spaces prompt terse message

CLYDE — A Clyde Board of Alderman decision to restrict parking in front of Sherill’s Pioneer Restaurant for a month has its critics, as can be evidenced by signs taped around parking cones.
Town Manager Joy Garland said complaints from town residents about visibility problems when pulling onto Carolina Boulevard from Mulberry Street prompted the action.
While many options were discussed, including limiting the spaces for cars only, the board agreed to try restricting all parking for 30 days to see if it helps, Garland said.
The action will be revisited at the next board meeting scheduled at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in town hall.
