MAGGIE VALLEY — Lucille Connelly Smoak, 90, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013.

A native of Georgetown County, South Carolina, she  resided in Haywood County since 1968. She was the daughter of the late Hugene and Florence Mae Reeves Connelly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Wilbur Smoak, who died in 1993; four sisters, Justine Barnes, Minnie Richardson, Janie Elliott and Lula Mae Gainey; two brothers, Lewis and Thomas Connelly; and a grandson, Rodney Gibson.  Lucille was a member of Maggie Valley First Baptist Church, where she was a teacher for the Bethany Women’s Class for many years.
