Loving Wife

CANTON – Lucy May Wright Harkins, 65, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at MedWest–Haywood.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Henson Wright.  She retired from Haywood County Hospital in 1994 as an LPN, with 30 years of service.  Lucy was a very loving, caring, and devoted wife.  She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James “Jimbo” Edward Harkins; an adopted grandson, Jesse Rhodes, of Canton; and a brother-in-law, Doug Harkins, of Waynesville.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16,  at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Webb officiating.  Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, ...
