Former Waynesville Resident

LINCOLN CITY, OREGON — Lucy L. Roose, 84, of Lincoln City, Oregon, formally of Waynesville, died Aug. 26, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Alice Ashe Leopard. She was the 11th of 13 children. After school, she moved to California with her then husband, Howard Sutton, attended a business school and was manager of a bank. She later married Everett Roose, now deceased and they owned and operated a Western Auto Store.

Lucy is survived by two sisters, Nancy Finger, of Maggie Valley, and Jeanette Overby, of Stokeys County; two stepchildren, and one stepgrandson, of Oregon; two sisters-in-law, Donna Leopard and Jackie Whitten; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pacific View Memorial Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, a at Wapiti Park near Lincoln City, with a potluck meal to follow.
