M.V.P. Hardin, Tricoli lead ‘White’ teams to victory

Five local standouts shine in annual hoop all-star games

SKYLAND — Several local stars were out in the 61st Blue-White boys and the 37th girls all-star basketball games at T.C. Roberson High Friday night.
Tuscola senior Shelby Tricoli scored seven of her 16 points, including three treys, in the final two minutes to help the Team White girls to a 78-65 victory.
Pisgah’s Taylor Galyean scored three points and Tuscola’s Taylor Galyean added six points for the Team White girls.
In the boys’ contest, Tuscola senior Logan Hardin pumped in an all-star game-high 20 points to lead Team White over Team Blue, 86-80. He was also named the M.V.P. of the Blue-White All-Star boys basketball game, while Asheville High senior guard Niry Perez, who also scored 16 points for Team White, was the girls’ most valuable player.
Hardin’s Tuscola teammate Thomas Hay also finished in double figures with 10 points for the Team White boys.  
The Blue-White All-Star game features area seniors and raises money for local children with developmental disabilities.
