WAYNESVILLE —  Mable Alice McCall Miller, 84, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at The Homestead.

A native of Morganton, and a former resident of Hickory, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, she had resided in Haywood County for the past eight years. She was the daughter of the late William Azor and Zalie Rhodes McCall.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Ray Miller, and a sister, Maxine England.  She was a consummate volunteer and very active in the Broward General Hospital Auxiliary.  Mable was known for opening her heart of gold to all friends and family.  She enjoyed sharing her specialty cakes and was the family champion at card games as well as a skilled bridge player.
