Mother, Grandmother

WAYNESVILLE — Mrs. Mable Leatherwood Massey, 97, of Waynesville, died March 15, 2013. She was born in Haywood County to the late Frank and Sarah Morrow Leatherwood. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two husbands, Paul J. Buchanan and Robert Massey; sons William David Buchanan, Robert Massey Jr.; brothers Jim, Rowe and Frank Leatherwood Jr; and a sister Hilda “Nig” Howell. Survivors include her son, Jerry K. Buchanan, of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Doris Buchanan; granddaughters, Connie Buchanan Plemmons (Steve), Luanne B. Guge (Joel), Lisa B. Burnett (Mike); great-grandchildren Morgan Burnett, Lindsay, Seth and William Guge; and several nieces and nephews.
