Main Street Artists’ Co-Op closing
The Main Street Artists’ Co-Op is now closed for the season.
“We suddenly and unexpectedly lost our lease,” explains manager Linda Twomey. “This is really unfortunate since November and December are generally great months for us.”
The Main Street Artists’ Co-Op (MAC) has been in operation for five years and is operated by local artists who not only exhibit their work for sale, but man the store several days a month on a rotating basis.
The Co-OP closes annually for the months of January through April, but closing in October comes as a surprise. On a brighter note, they are actively looking for a new venue on Main Street and plan to reopen in May. In order to expedite the move, several artists are offering their works at a reduced price.
“That’s good news for our customers if they are interested in purchasing an early Christmas present,” adds Twomey. “We just really want Waynesville to know that we’ll be back.”
