Making Strides for Breast Cancer 5K Saturday

Oct 18, 2012

It's time to lace up those running shoes and dress in pink for the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk at Pack Square in Asheville at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20.

The event is a benefit for the American Cancer Society and an opportunity to honor breast cancer survivors, remember those lost to breast cancer, and to raise funds and awareness to help end the disease.

Since 1993, 8 million cancer charity walkers across the country have raised more than $460 million through Making Strides events to help fight breast cancer, according to the American Cancer Society.

Last year alone, supporters raised more than $60 million nationwide to help the American Cancer Society save lives and create a world with less breast cancer and more birthdays.

Enter as an individual for $25 or form a fundraising team. For more information, call Peggy Crowe at 254-6931 or email peggy.crowe@cancer.org or sign up at http://main.acsevents.org.
