Man arrested for firing weapon in residential area

A Waynesville man was arrested last week for firing a weapon at residents in Chestnut Park.

According to reports from the Waynesville Police Department, Clifford Nathaniel Warren, 36, drove to the residential area and shot at a man he knew with a small caliber pistol. Two neighbors claimed to have heard two shots fired.

He was arrested and charged with possession of firearm by a felon, going armed to the terror of the public, assault with a deadly weapon, discharging a firearm in the city limits and driving with a revoked license.

He was jailed under $20,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10.
