Man pleads guilty to indecent liberties charge
A Hot Springs resident pleaded guilty to taking indecent liberties with two local teens in superior court last week.
John David James, 38,was originally charged with six counts indecent liberties with a minor in September after inappropriately touching two 15-year-olds on at least three different occasions.
Although he was never completely alone with the girls, he "took opportunities as they arose," said Det. Matthew Beck, often when family members were at home but not looking.
James pleaded guilty to three counts indecent liberties with a minor. Superior Court Judge Brad Letts sentenced James to spend between 13 and 25 months in jail. He was also sentenced to 30 months supervised probation with a suspended sentence of another 13 to 25 months for the other two counts indecent liberties.
