Dr. Birthright has generously offered his time and talent to help us provide low-cost microchips for pets of Haywood County and we are really grateful for his help.  Haywood Spay/Neuter has a main goal of reducing pet overpopulation at the shelter and the prime way to accomplish that is widespread practice of spaying and neutering household pets.  "But even neutered animals go astray once in a while and end up in the shelter," said Penny Wallace Haywood Spay/Neuter's executive director.  "Without ID lost pets stay in the shelter the requisite number of days and unless they are adopted, are euthanized. A microchip will prevent that outcome.  So, call us at 828-452-1329 to reserve your chip.  If you get our message box, please leave your name and number and we will call you back."
