Mardi Gras king and queen crowned

Beth Brown and Greg Boothroyd were crowned the 2013 Mardi Gras queen and king March 2 during the Haywood County Schools Foundation's Mardi Gras Ball.

Boothroyd and Brown earned the titles by raising the most donations for the foundation, which raised a total of $43,000 to be used for student scholarships, needs in the classrooms of the 16 schools in the county and to retain highly qualified educators.
