WAYNESVILLE  — Marie Early Edwards, 83, of Belle Meade Avenue, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, following an extended illness. Mrs. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Waynesville.   She attended Fines Creek High School where she sang in the chorus.  She was a charter member of Faith Methodist Church where she also sang in the choir and taught Adult Women’s Sunday School for twenty five years. She served as a Girl Scout Leader.  Marie enjoyed writing poetry and read her poetry on radio station WWIT. Later in life she learned how and enjoyed playing the piano. Marie retired from Dayco Southern after 25 years of service.  Following this retirement, she became very active in the volunteer community serving Meals on Wheels for twenty five years, she worked in the Soup Kitchen, ...
