In Loving Memory

CANTON — Marjorie Jean Tipton Whitted, 90, passed away Wednesday, Sept.19, 2012 at MedWest-Haywood.

A native Buncombe County and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Fred T. and Fannie Miller Tipton.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Freddie Parham and Joyce Ericson; and two brothers, Harry B. and Harold Tipton.  She was a dedicated member of Canton First Baptist Church.  Marjorie will be remembered for her kind, caring, and giving spirit.  She was a very talented seamstress, sewing everything she designed by hand, even making her daughter’s wedding dress and her hand-sewn quilts have been passed down through generations in her family.  Her delicious scratch made cakes were well-known by her family and friends, ...
