The Run-Off is a little confusing to some folks because they just voted in the recent election for Mark. Mark Meadows received the most votes in the Republican Primary but he did not reach the 40% thresh-hold necessary to prevent a run-off.

Since there were 8 candidates in the Republican race; a run-off was expected. July 17^th Run-Off Election is the date that the final decisions will be made for the Republican candidate for US House of Representatives from Haywood County.

Early “One Stop” voting starts next week on June 28^th - for the Run-Off. So it is important for voters to meet the candidates as soon as possible.

Tuesday June 26^th will be a busy evening with the candidates in the state wide and US Congressional races converging on Haywood County for the big “Republican Run-Off Candidate Forum” at 7 pm. Mark Meadows will be speaking at the Forum and meeting voters at the “social” starting a 5 pm.

The event organizers hope that the convenience of the events will bring voters downtown to Waynesville on Tuesday, June 26th to meet candidates before the Early Voting gets started.
