Waynesville, NC - The Classic Wineseller welcomes Marshall Ballew to Friday Night Live on April 26, 2013, from 7:00-10:00pm, 20 Church Street, Waynesville. Small plate fare is prepared in the Classic Wineseller’s kitchen between 5:30 and 9:00pm.

Ballew is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in northeast Tennessee. His dobro and lap steel work can be heard on recordings by David Childers, Christine Kane, Hot Guitar, Chris Rosser, Gospel Playboys, Mama Said, Wanda Lu Greene, Timber Rattlers, and Radiation Blues Banned.

He has shared the stage with performers such as David Lindley, Jorma Kaukonen, Doc Watson, Dave Alvin and the Guilty Men, Cindy Cashdollar, Acoustic Syndicate, Michael Reno Harrell, Mary Flower, and Rank Outsiders.

Marshall Ballew’s solo performances include music on guitar, dobro, banjo, fiddle, harmonica, hawaiian guitar, and tiple. His musical styles include a mix of originals, old-time, blues, bluegrass, jug band, rock and roll, and more. He has toured the southeast United States, and has played at festivals like Piccolo Spoleto and Lowcountry Blues Bash in Charleston, SC, Carolina Downhome Blues Festival in Camden, SC, Lake Eden Arts Festival in Swannanoa, NC, Pee Dee Blues Bash in Florence, SC, Greening Up The Mountains in Sylva, NC, and National Steel Guitar Festivals in Brevard, NC and Charleston, SC.

He has conducted workshops on slide guitar at the National Steel Guitar Festivals in both Brevard and Charleston, and at Grandpa's Music in Saint Augustine, Florida. He has a private guitar studio, and has taught guitar at Mountain Discovery Charter School in Bryson City, NC.

Each week the Classic Wineseller's popular Friday Night Live music series showcases local, regional, and on occasion--national talent. Beginning June 1, 2013, the Classic Wineseller will remain open late for dining and live music performances every Friday and Saturday night.
