CRABTREE — Marshall Haney, 87, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. He was born Oct. 31, 1925, to the late Jesse and Mary Mathis Haney. Marshall enjoyed mowing grass and working on lawn mowers. He taught small engine repair at Haywood Community College for more than 30 years. Marshall was a lifetime member of Crabtree Baptist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also a member of Lodge 226 of The Woodmen of the World. Marshall retired from Wellco, with more than 40 years of faithful service.

In addition to his parents, Marshall was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Andrew, Ervin Lee, and J.C. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 64 years, Pauline; one son, Marty, and his wife Lee Anna; one grandson, Lance; one granddaughter, Breanna; and one sister, Gertrude Chambers.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Crabtree Baptist Church with the Rev. Matt Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford-Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the church and at other times at the residence.
