Mary Frances Burnette
CANTON — Mary Frances “Fran” Frizzell Burnette, 74, of Canton, entered into the arms of the angels Friday, March 21, 2014.
Mrs. Burnette was born Nov. 22, 1939, in Jackson County to the late Arthur Frizzell and the late Thelma Johnson Frizzell. Everyone blessed to know Fran loved her dearly. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mary Frances was a talented expert Swedish quilt maker, an avid gardener and a gifted craft artisan. Her energy was boundless and her fiery spirit that everyone admired will never be forgotten.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, David Jewel Burnette; a daughter, Diane B. Scire and her husband, Joseph Scire; a son, David Allen Burnette and his wife, Sandra Burnette; her grandchildren , Aiden and Addison ; a sister, Nell Burnette and her husband, Don Burnette; her brothers, Harold Frizzell and his wife, Sharon, Ray Frizzell and his wife Theresa and Roy Frizzelland his wife, Mary Anne and many friends that loved Fran dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The Rev. Perry Brindley will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Entombment services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at Garrett Hillcrest Mausoleum in Waynesville.
