Loving Mother, Grandmother

CANTON —  Mary Jo Morrow Owen, 87, of Reed Street, passed away into the arms of the angels, Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Silver Bluff Village.

Mrs. Owen was born March 17, 1925, in Haywood County to the late William Troy Morrow and the late Hobert Reid Morrow.  She was a former employee of the Champion Cut Rate Drug Store and Martin's Drug Store in Canton, where she worked in the cosmetic department for many years.  Mrs. Owen was a member of the Canton Business Professional Women's Club and she was a faithful member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church. She was a talented and gifted artist and was honored with the selection of one of her beautiful mountain paintings chosen to grace the cover of the book "Rooted Deep in the Pigeon Valley," by Carroll C.
