WAYNESVILLE — Mary Lois Price Mintz, 70, of Farley Street, passed away and entered her heavenly home on Thursday, March 28, 2013.
Mrs. Mintz was born April 3, 1942, in Haywood County to the late Henry A. Price and the late Tilda McElroy Price. She was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and was a former employee of Wellco Enterprises and also was employed as a care giver at Hemlock Nursing Home in Waynesville and several other nursing facilities in the area.
Mrs. Mintz was a member of North Hazelwood Baptist Church and attended Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Waynesville. She could often be found spending time in her garden tending to her many plants and flowers. Mrs. Mintz enjoyed the outdoors and she and her family often walked and hiked throughout the mountains that she loved. She was a talented pianist and together she and her husband, Bill often sang in churches throughout our community. She was truly a blessing to her family and her precious memory shall be cherished forever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant grandson, Jamie; her sister, Ruth and a niece, Jackie.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Bill Mintz of Waynesville; daughters, Carrie Chavez and her husband, Alberto Chavez of Canton and Lisa Dunbar and her husband, Steven Dunbar of Greenville, Tennessee; a son, Billy Stamey and his wife, Kim Evans of Clyde; twelve grandchildren; her sisters, Pat of Bradenton, Florida, Carolyn of Hendersonville and Marie of Waynesville; a brother, Gene of Brooksville, Florida and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, April 1, 2013 in the chapel of Crawford / Ray Funeral Home. The Reverend Dennis Queen will be officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
