Dottie Mathews has been chosen as the September resident of the month at Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center in Waynesville. She has been a resident of Haywood Lodge since March 2012. Mathews moved from Florida to be closer to her family that was living in Haywood County. She was born in Iowa and was married to a career military man who is now deceased. Mathews enjoys socializing with the other residents, going on outings, following the professional golf tours on television and playing bridge. She is a wonderful addition to the facility and is always pleasant to everyone.
