CANDLER — Maude Gasaway Griffin, 92, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.
A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late Victor Lee and Beulah Bell Womack Gasaway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, and four brothers. Maude was a member of Candler Hill Street Church of God and had worked as a nursing assistant at Memorial Mission Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wiley Roger Griffin; one daughter, Shelby J. White, of Candler; one son, Charles E. Griffin, of Candler; two sisters, Marie Pitts, of Bryson City, and Pearl Davis, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; two brothers, Lewis Gasaway, of Powell, Tennessee, and Frank Gasaway, of Bryson City; five grandchildren and their spouses, ...
