Loving Father and Son

CANTON — Max Gerry Robinson Jr., 51, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at MedWest Haywood.

A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of Betty Jean Robinson Suttles and the late Max Gerry Robinson Sr., who passed away January, 2013.  He was also preceded in death by an infant brother.  He was a 1979 graduate of Pisgah High School and employed with Evergreen Packaging, formerly known as Champion International.  Max was also a former employee of Dayco Corporation and was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #0322 in Canton.  He was a 13 year U. S. Navy veteran serving in the Gulf War during Desert Storm and was also stationed in Libya.  Max was a talented drummer playing in several bands during his life time and most recently, “Mason Jar.” He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing, was an avid Pisgah Bears football fan, and a talented woods craftsman. Max was dedicated to his work and will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, Elmer Suttles of Arden, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Terri Robinson; a daughter, Ashli Robinson, of Canton; two sons, Bobby Robinson, and his wife, Amy, of Mooresville, and Anthony Robinson, and his wife, Crystal, of Shelbyville, Tennessee; his step-mother, Jean Robinson; his grandmother, Macie Robinson, of Asheville; an aunt, Brenda Bruce, of Hendersonville; an uncle, Dean Robinson, of Canton; stepbrothers, Michael Rhymer, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Jason Rhymer, of Charlotte; and five grandchildren, Jacob, James, Max, Alex and Luke Robinson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6,  at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Cayton officiating, with military honors to follow. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8  p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
