MedWest Haywood held a series of community meetings last spring, to gather feedback from the community as well as share information on the MedWest Haywood Health System. The meetings were led by Janie Sinacore-Jaberg, president and CEO, who wanted to know what the health system was doing right, and what could be done better.
“I continue to be interested in knowing how our community thinks we are doing, because this is their community hospital,” said Jaberg. “I want to know the good as well as the cases when maybe we didn’t meet expectations, because if we don’t know about it we can’t fix it. We are here for one reason only: to provide safe, excellent care to our community. And it’s important to me that I get out and hear what people have to say.”
Feedback was collected at the last round of community meetings. That feedback will be shared with participants of these meetings, as well as information on how the health system works to respond to community member’s concerns and suggestions.
There will also be some new information to share about the health system at this meeting.
“When we all met last spring, our boards were just beginning the process of searching for a capital partner,” said Jaberg. “Now, we are in the due diligence process with Duke LifePoint to become our new owner. It’s a very exciting time for our community hospital, and I will be bringing everyone up to speed not only about this process but about new services and enhancements within our health system here in Haywood.”
