MedWest Haywood to host Behavioral Health training forum
MedWest Haywood will be sponsoring a Crisis/Emergency Department Initiative (CEDI) forum from 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 19 at Haywood Community College in the Beall Auditorium.
Law enforcement officers play a large role in supporting and helping members of the community that are in crisis due to mental health or substance abuse issues. This forum is designed to give officers a reference tool when they are fulfilling their role in the commitment and hospitalization process. This event will stress the importance of collaboration and communication between multiple agencies and stakeholders in order to create positive outcomes for clients.
Speakers include: Brian Bair, Director of Behavioral Health for MedWest Haywood; Roger Coward, Senior Director of Clinical Services for MedWest Haywood; Beth Rathbone, Director of Health Information Management for MedWest Haywood; Jason Woodberry, Director of Security for MedWest Health System; Genny Pugh, Smoky Mountain Center Senior Director of Community Collaboration and Tabatha Brafford, Clinical Director of Crisis Services for Appalachian Community Services.
The overall goals of the training event are to: increase knowledge of Behavioral Health resources for community members in crisis, increase understanding of processes and procedures, share successes realized through the CEDI monthly meetings and discuss future direction, and offer an opportunity for dialogue and questions.
Anyone interested in attending this forum or who has any questions may contact Brian Bair at 828-452-8691 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
