Michael 'Duke' Warren
In Loving Memory
CANTON — A loving son, father, brother and dear friend, Michael Dale “Duke” Warren, of Canton, age 59, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.
Mr. Warren was born Sept. 3, 1957, in Haywood County. He was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and had been employed as a pipefitter in the construction industry throughout the Southeast. He had attended Riverside Baptist Church, Crestview Baptist Church and also Canton Presbyterian Church. During his years of attending Sunday school, he was awarded five years of perfect attendance.
Duke had a kind and caring heart and he often visited local nursing homes and brightened many patients day with beautiful flower bouquets. He held a great love for all animals and he also enjoyed fishing. Duke was blessed with many friends and he had a natural way of connecting with people and being blessed with friendships that have lasted a lifetime. He shall be deeply missed.
Duke was preceded in death by his father, Wayne P. Warren; his maternal grandparents, Jim and “Bena” Metcalf; and his paternal grandparents, Alonzo and Cora Warren.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Reba Metcalf Warren, of Canton; his daughter, Josey Kuehn and her husband, Seth Kuehn, of Sylva; brothers, Eric Douglas Warren and his wife, Regina Warren, of St. George, SC, Alan Dean Warren and his wife, Jane Warren, of Spartanburg, SC, and Stephen David Warren, of the Bethel community; also numerous special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, in the chapel of Crawford/Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Rev. Doug Warren and Rev. Dan Page will be officiating. Burial will follow at Inman Chapel Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be nephews, cousins and friends. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service.
