Mission trip to Honduras helps ease poverty — for a time
Circling and threading down a narrow valley, with mountains towering on each side, an airline jet is diving for the postage-stamp-sized runway at Tegucigalpa. The turbulence brings screams from many of the passengers including some of the 11 Haywood County residents as they have the unique opportunity to be on that jet. They go not for the wild roller coaster ride, but to help the very poor in the Capital City of Honduras.
Haywood County’s Rehoboth Baptist Church joined with a medical team from Missouri to minister in Central America from June 9-16, hosted by World Gospel Outreach (WGO). These 11 Haywood County residents had an exceptional chance to help the poor in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
