The Tuscola boys soccer team upped its record to 5-4 with a big WNC Athletic Conference win over North Henderson Monday, Sept. 16 at C.E. Weatherby Stadium in Waynesville.
The 4-0 win against the Knights improved Tuscola’s WNCAC record to 2-1. The Mountaineers beat Brevard 3-1 last week in their first conference match of the season.
In Monday night’s game, four Mountaineers scored goals, three off of assists by senior Steven Huppe. Sophomore Ben Nickol put Tuscola up 1-0 off a Huppe assist, at just under seven minutes into the match. Junior A. J. Hawkins made it 2-0 with another assist from Huppe, who struck again with an assist to senior Brandon Singleton in the second half.
