Mr. Donald Fuller McClure
Waynesville — Mr. Donald F. McClure passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at The Homestead. Mr. McClure was born in Haywood County to the late Fuller and Nora Fortner McClure. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence McClure; brothers, Berlin and Ulysses McClure; and a sister, Ima Allison.
Mr. McClure worked in the CC Camp where he helped to build the Blue Ridge Parkway; he served our country in WWII and received a Bronze Star for his service during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. McClure retired from Dayco and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his son, Mark McClure, and his wife, Mary Anne; daughters, Sheila McClure, Janna Moore and her husband Ronnie and Laura McClure; sister, Gladys Kirkpatrick; brothers, Samuel McClure and his wife Evelyn, all of Waynesville, Kemuel “Pete” and his wife Frances of Greeneville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Wayne and Logan McClure and Amber Reagan; and great-grandchildren, Ashlynn, Tanner, Isis, Jacob, Joel, Makenzie, Makayla and Makaden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11 in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest beside his wife at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from noon until the hour of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans organization.
