Mulls gets two wins, but Bears fall to West Henderson

Freshman takes his singles match, 10-6, teams up with Esquivel in doubles victory

CANTON — The Pisgah varsity boys tennis team fell to 1-2 overall after losing to undefeated West Henderson, 6-3.
The Falcons improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the WNCAC.
For Pisgah in singles, No. 1 seed Tanner Wike lost, 10-4, No. 2 seed Ben Baker fell, 10-4, No. 3 seed Will Norris was defeated, 10-4, No. 4 seed Eli Long lost, 11-9, No. 5 seed Zach Mull won, 10-6 and No. 6 seed Jesus Esquivel lost 10-8.
In doubles for the Black Bears, Wike and Baker won, 8-5, Norris and Long were defeated, 8-2, while Mull and Esquivel won 9-8.
The Pisgah netters will travel to Brevard on Thursday and will get a rematch with West Henderson on Monday, March 27 in Mills River.
