Music studio celebrates 1st anniversary
Deborah Horn, owner and instructor of Junaluska Music Studio, is celebrating the first anniversary of her successful music studio. Last October, Horn, a National Board-Certified Teacher, decided to open a home-based music studio.
“Due to family needs, I decided to leave my full-time teaching position and open a music studio from my home,” Horn said. “At that time, I spoke with veteran music teachers in the area. They were encouraging, but warned me to allow time for the business to become successful. My business plan was to have at least 20 students within a year. To my amazement, within two months I had enrolled 22 students.”
Horn gives credit to her years working in the public schools, as a special needs specialist. She feels that each student has different strengths and interests. ...
