Names released in fatal Clyde shooting
CLYDE — Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal shooting Thursday morning following a 9-1-1 call about a domestic dispute.
Haywood County Sheriff Bobby Suttles said veteran deputies Michael Scott Price and Keith Allen Beasley shot and killed 46-year-old David Lee Hensley who was armed when they arrived at his home at 69 Kims Court.
“He evidently had a gun and approached the deputies and that’s when shots were fired,” Suttles said Friday, although he could not confirm how many shots were fired or whether Hensley fired his own weapon.
As a standard procedure, Suttles said the incident has been turned over to the State Bureau of Investigation, which is keeping details of the case under wraps.
