Nathaniel 'Nate' H. Lewis
Beloved Father, Son, Grandson, Friend
CANDLER — Nathaniel Hugh Lewis, 19, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014.
A native of Waynesville, he was employed as an assistant electrician for M.B. Haynes Corporation. Nate had a passion for motorcycles and anything fast. He competed on track days in Alabama and had aspirations of racing professionally. Nate was a beloved father, son, grandson and friend. He enjoyed traveling, hiking and seeing new places.
Nate is survived by his son, Carson Lewis; father, Michael Hugh Lewis, and stepmother, Jennifer, of Candler; mother, Kathy Hensley, and stepfather, Mike, of Mills River; maternal grandmother, Louise Hannah, of Waynesville, and paternal grandfather, Hugh Lewis Sr., of Waynesville; half-sister, Laney Paige Hensley, of Mills River; half-brother, Nicholas Hugh Lewis, of Candler; half sister, Kye Johnson, of Germany; and his girlfriend, Harmony Connor.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Wyatt and Steve “Boulder” Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the funeral home.
