Timothy+Barnabas and the Truett Baptist Association have partnered together to bring the residents of Haywood, Jackson, Swain, Graham, Macon, Clay and Cherokee counties for MAIN EVENT: National Day of Prayer Rally, to be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, at Bear Ridge Mall, in the concert hall, located at 200 Stewart Road, Andrews.

North Canton Baptist Church, Rock Springs Baptist Church and several churches in Haywood County will be in attendance.

“This is something I’ve always had a heart for,” said Allen Scroggs, director of operations for Timothy+Barnabas. “You’re coming together on mutual ground. We’re crossing denominational lines and everyone is welcome. You come together in unity together to pray for the local, state and city and national governments. You pray for the leadership of your country.”

The rally will feature special prayer times with special prayer leaders, singing and worship and a guest speaker. Special musical guests are the bluegrass Gospel group Walking By Faith, from Robbinsville, and The Nelons, from Woodstock, Georgia.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Johnny Hunt, pastor of First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia.

This event is free and open to the public. No love offering will be taken; the event was paid for by the Truett Baptist Association.

“As a Christian, I love to see people come together,” said Scroggs. “I don’t get wrapped up in denominations, but I do enjoy being together with other believers. It’ll be a special time for the community.”
