A Feb. 7 meeting to hear public opinion regarding Duke Energy’s proposed microgrid atop Mount Sterling has been cancelled .

The meeting, which would have been hosted by the North Carolina Utilities commission, was cancelled due to a lack of protest. General council to the commission Sam Watson said it is common to cancel meetings for smaller projects such as the microgrid.

Work is slated to begin on the project soon and should be done by the end by the end of the year.

Anyone who would still like to make their voice heard can send their comments via email to statements@ncuc.com.
