New Belgium Brewing celebrates 25 years Aug. 26-2725th Anniversary weekend includes Asheville Clips Beer and Film, birthday bash at brewery
New Belgium Brewing fans will have reason to celebrate Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27 — with two fun events in Asheville. NBB is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style, with a weekend-long bash.
Clips Beer and Film
The celebration kicks off with the Asheville stop of the Clips Beer and Film Tour Friday, Aug. 26 at Pack Square in downtown Asheville.
It’s is a free event, showcasing short films and a selection of close to 20 small-batch beers for purchase. All proceeds from beer sales go to Asheville on Bikes.
Clips is a great event for a summer evening under the stars. Many of New Belgium’s more esoteric brews will be on tap, available in 3-ounce samples or 12-ounce pours. Food from local vendors will be available.
Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for sitting down and watching the films. The event begins at 7 p.m. and film screenings begin at 9 p.m. on a large outdoor screen.
25th Anniversary Birthday Bash
“Join us as we celebrate 25 years of New Belgium Brewing, the grand opening of our Asheville brewery, and all the friends we’ve made on this ride,” said Susanne Hackett, New Belgium Asheville communications specialist.
“The Birthday Bash is going down at our brewery in Asheville,” Hackett said. “This day-long celebration will showcase Tour de Fat acts, unique beer offerings, amazing local eats and treats and some exciting surprises you won’t want to miss.”
Children under age 12 will get into the birthday event free with a ticketed adult. The doors open at 3 p.m., with the show beginning at 4 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include three drinks at the event. Visit www.newbelgium.com/birthday-bash to order tickets. Parking at the brewery is limited, and party-goers are asked to consider biking, carpool or taking the off-site shuttles to the event.
“Meeting neighbors and visitors, we’ve had an amazing time hanging out with the thousands of guests who have come to spend time with us at the Liquid Center,” said Tyler Foos, NBB Asheville Liquid Center manager. “Celebrating our 25th birthday and grand opening in Asheville with old friends and new makes us proud and grateful to be in this community. Consider this your official invitation to join us.”
Valid I.D.s are necessary to enjoy the libations at both events.
