A new chief executive officer has been appointed at MedWest-Haywood.

Janie Sinacore-Jaberg, who most recently served as system chief operating officer of Muskogee Regional Medical Center, a 320-bed system in Muskogee, Oklahoma, is expected to start Dec. 10.

John Young, regional vice president of Carolinas HealthCare System, has been handling the CEO duties since the departure of Michael Poore in March.

Sinacore-Jaberg will be the first female to serve as CEO for the Haywood hospital system, and is expected to bring a wealth of enthusiasm along with a wealth of experience to the post.

Young made the announcement at the Haywood County Board of Commissioners meeting Monday and spoke of the selection in an interview afterward.

“I believe she will shake some things up,” he said.
